Preschool Outreach Program
The goal of the Preschool Outreach Program is to assist the child care provider in ensuring a child is fully able to participate in preschool activities. Services provided in this program are based on a child care provider's identification of issues and needs in the areas of gross motor, fine motor, communication or hearing. Services are provided in licensed child care facilities throughout the Durham Region.

Assessment of child's needs and provision of appropriate recommended services by:

Speech-Language Pathologists

Audiologists
Various types of equipment are available for loan to facilitate a child's participation in preschool. This equipment must be recommended by the child's therapist.
Information to parents about preschools in their areas and child care subsidies, if appropriate.
Workshops for child care providers and community agency members on specific topics such as gross and fine motor skills, communication and audiology.
Ongoing support for the child care provider is provided as required.
Eligibility and Referrals
The Preschool Outreach Program has been designed for children with physical, developmental, and/or communication difficulties from infancy to six years of age who attend a licensed child care program in Durham Region.
Services from a Physiotherapist and / or an Occupational Therapist may be provided for children who are physically challenged, six to twelve years old and who are clients of Grandview.
Referrals can be made by child care providers, other service providers, and parents and/or legal guardians by phone. Parental consent is required.
